MAFS’ Wine Thrower Martha Wants You To Know She’s Stopped Mooching Off Her Parents

Married At First Sight (MAFS) villain Martha Kalifatidis (they’re all villains at this point, IMO) is perhaps one of the most despised people in Australia right now, not just for dumping wine on Cyrell during last night’s reunion, but also for making extremely privileged comments at the dinner table.

Speaking with fellow bride Jessika Power, the makeup artist revealed that she’s no longer working and relies on her parents to support her.

“I was freelancing and right now I don’t just want to be turning up to people’s houses. I just don’t feel safe at the moment and I don’t know who I can trust,” she said.

“I did ask to go back to my old job which was at a retailer but they don’t want… it’s too much of a liability for them as well. I’m just in a hard spot at the moment.”

She adds, “I’m not working, I’m not working, like my parents are supporting me.”

Jessika then replied: “I don’t know how I keep getting money… My dad’s like, ‘Do you need $5,000?’ and I’m like, ‘Yes, daddy!’”

“Me neither,” Martha responds. “Somehow [money] manages to find its way into my account.”

Her remarks were met with immediate backlash from viewers who took issue with her sense of entitlement.

This morning, Martha clarified her comments in an interview with shock jocks Kyle & Jackie O.

“Guys, can we clear something up? Because the amount of messages that people are saying about me not working,” she began.

“That reunion was filmed during the Christmas break and I didn’t go back to work and I don’t rely on my parents.”

“I said my parents have been supporting me in between the wrapping of filming and the Christmas break… which is true, they had. I couldn’t go back to work for like two weeks over Christmas.

“I’m not asking for money from anyone, I don’t know why they care.”

Eh, whatever. This will all be irrelevant when the MAFS contestants’ 15 seconds of fame end after tonight’s finale.

The countdown is on, people.
