MAFS’ Booka Nile Was Banned From Tinder For Jokingly Hunting Hot Dads, So Guess I’m In Trouble

Booka Nile Tinder Ban

MAFS 2021 star Booka Nile has revealed in an interview with New Idea that she was banned from Tinder and had her account removed after the dating app assumed she was using the app to find a sugar daddy because of her bio. Dunno about you, but that sounds like an iconic way to banned from anything.

Anyone who has been on Tinder can tell you that coming up with a good bio that sticks is one of the most difficult tasks you could possibly endure in this life. It has to be funny, grabby and not too long, while also revealing a little about yourself that brings in the love interests.

Booka Nile’s bio (which is absolutely brilliant in my humble opinion) was: “I’m just here to match with your dad.”

Funny, snappy, brilliant. Tinder however didn’t quite like it, and removed Nile’s profile from the app, banning her for a set duration of time. Pretty drastic for something that’s clearly a joke, but Nile reckons it’s because they thought the bio made reference to her being on the hunt for sugar daddies, which I’m sure goes against pretty much every Tinder rule.

Nile, who plays for the metalcore band Make Them Suffer, told New Idea that the bio was a direct reference to an inside joke she makes at her shows.

“As part of an ongoing joke, I would say, ‘I’m going to date your dad!’ on stage,” Booka told New Idea.

“Fans just started wearing shirts to the shows, saying ‘Date my dad’ and ‘Number one stepmum’.

“It was all a bit of a crazy laugh – I can confirm I’m not into dads. But it became this huge thing, and at the time I had on my Tinder profile, ‘I’m just here to match with your dad.’”

Sounds like she knows how to have a good time to me. If I had Tinder I’d probably make the same joke. Except I don’t think I’d really be joking, come to think of it…

Anyway, you can catch Booka Mile and her new boo Brett Helling (Luigi moustache and all) on MAFS 2021, which airs weeknights at 7.30 pm on Nine.
