These past few months, we’ve all surely felt the acute horror of running our mouths on a zoom call without realising everyone else can hear. This week, Lukas Gage found himself on the receiving end of this exact situation, and played it cool when a director talked shit about his apartment.
The 25-year-old actor, who appeared in HBO’s Euphoria and has also appeared in Love, Victor, was in the midst of a zoom audition this week when the unfortunate incident occurred. In a video, which Lukas Gage shared to Twitter, a man can be heard talking, blissfully unaware that the actor can hear.
He says:
“These poor people live in these tiny apartments. Like I’m looking at his background and he has his TV, you know…”
The actor took this in stride, telling the director: “It’s a shitty apartment – give me this job so I can get a better one!”
The “mortified” man apologised, and the audition seemingly continued in good spirits. The video has since gone viral, and honestly, it’s probably the biggest profile boost that Lukas Gage could has asked for, so I think we can chalk this one up as a win.
