If you’re the type of person that enjoys feeling their soul leave their body, read on, because an old X Factor UK audition tape of Love Island‘s Cassie Lansdell has resurfaced and [Janice voice] oh, my GAWD.

Turns out, Cassie was once one half of a singing duo called Duplex. It was called Duplex because Cassie and her mate Katrina are “a duplicate of each other” or “one person cut in half”. Christ, I wish I was making this shit up. Anyway, Duplex appeared on The X Factor UK in 2013 in the hopes of “breaking” USA and going global.
This did not happen. Instead, Duplex copped a fine roasting.
I made it about three seconds into the actual singing bit, and then I skipped to the middle, and end.
“You really are one of the same person, you both can’t sing,” Judge Gary Barlow said after cutting the girls’ performance short. “Really awful singing. It wasn’t nerves – you just can’t sing.”
Oop.
I think (I hope) they went on for the shits and giggles. SURELY.

Meanwhile, Cassie’s currently coupled up with Luke on Love Island. It might not be the best match, but the two are figuring it out. Last night’s evictee, Eoghan, told PEDESTRIAN.TV he wasn’t so sure about them as a couple.
“They’re not as strong as everybody else so it’ll be interesting to see how that plays out,” Eoghan said. “‘Cos they’re both big personalities and they do clash sometimes.”
