Love Island runner-ups Cartier Surjan and Matthew Zukowski have announced their split on Instagram, just a day after the pair walked the ARIA red carpets together.

Matt posted a flick of the pair, confirming that Cartier had pretty much friend-zoned him. “Moving forward I would just like to let you all know that Cartier has decided that the two of us are better off suited as friends,” he captioned the flick. “I respect Cartier & her decision. She is truely a beautiful girl & I wish the best for her in the future!”

Cartier also posted a similar snap at the same time, confirming that she thought her and Matt would be better off as good mates. “He’s a beautiful guy no doubt about it!” she added. “Hope you all can respect my decision and support both of us in finding true love.”

This follows the news that Luke Packham officially ended his post-show fling with Cassie Lansdell.
“We tried to see how things would work in the real world,” Luke told Daily Mail, “but ultimately decided that we’re better off as friends without benefits.”
