Louis CK Made A Movie In 1998 And He’s Finally Releasing It

Are you eagerly awaiting new material from prolific comic virtuoso and serial truth teller Louis CK? Us too. And while there’s no word on the status of Louie’s inevitable 2014 standup special just yet, for the moment he has dipped into the vault with some early work that – to date – remains largely unseen. On last night’s appearance on The Tonight Show, he announced plans to release his 1998 directorial film debut, Tomorrow Night, via his website.

The movie was originally screened at Sundance but never got released – which CK attributes to the fact it was shot in black and white. It features some before-they-were-stars cameo appearances by big comedy players including Steve Carrell, Amy Poehler and J.B. Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm).

Watch him talk about Tomorrow Night in the clip below, in addition to anecdotes about getting stressed about high-pressure New Year’s platitudes like “I wish you nothing but love and happiness” (which inevitably veers into diarrhea chat) and about flirting with the idea of giving his daughters no presents for Christmas – because “I actually think it would make them better people”.
