Louis C.K. Pretty Much Guaranteed Oscar in ‘American Bullshit’

Two time Emmy-award winning comedian and Golden Globe nominee, Louis C.K., is one step closer to EGOT status with news today that he’s in talks to take on a key role in Silver Linings Playbook director and two-time 2013 Academy Award nominee, David O. Russell’s follow-up project, American Bullshit [working title].

Based on a true story, the yet to be formally titled film follows an undercover sting operation set in the 1980s led by a con artist, Mel Weinberg, who worked for the FBI “on a far-reaching corruption case” that lead to the to rooting out of corruption in Congress. So kinda like Argo meets The Informant, Frost/Nixon and Burn After Reading? Or nothing like that at all.
C.K. joins a cast that includes people who have either won or are currently nominated for an Oscar, Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams and filming begins next month during Louie’s extended one year hiatus. All this thing needs now is a role for adorable Shetland/veteran actor Jacki Weaver.
So many things to look forward to.
