Various sources are now claiming that the nipple has been circulating on Tumblr for a while now, and Cara just re-uploaded it. Cara Delevingne will flash her nipples wherever she damn well pleases, and much like the small town prudes who were shocked and appalled by Kevin Bacon‘s risque dancing in Footloose, the good people of Instagram will just have to deal with it.
Overnight, Delevingne posted a side-by-side comparison picture of her topless body next to a man’s, as part of her ongoing campaign to Free The Nipple, a protest against Instagram’s unfair policies regarding tasteful depictions of the female form.
Free The Nipple took off after Instagram deleted Rihanna and Anja Rubik‘s Instagram accounts for showing nudity. A number of celebrities, including Scout Willis, have jumped on board, and there’s even a viral Twitter now.
Delevingne herself has long been a supporter of Free The Nipple, posting this teasing holiday photo a few weeks ago.
The ball is in Instagram’s court now, as it were. Delevinvne’s account is still up at the time of posting, but whether they delete it or not remains to be seen. Should the worst come to the worst, we have screengrabs.
