Mumblecore muse Greta Gerwig is helming a new Little Women adaptation that we are heckin’ excited about, especially considering her nuanced exploration of female friendship in her Golden Globe-winning directorial debut Lady Bird.
Now we have another reason, beyond the possibility of finally doing justice to a formative Louisa May Alcott book for 12-year-old girls everywhere: this adorbs cast photo.

Saorise Ronan starred in Lady Bird, which also featured the softest boy, Timothée Chalamet. They’re each going to be working with Gerwig for a second time on this one, and they’re joined by Emma Watson, Florence Pugh and Aussie Eliza Scanlen.
The flick is also set to feature Meryl Streep and Laura Dern. Emma Stone was reportedly forced to drop out from the project because shooting clashed with promo for her new movie, The Contender.
The cast, including Pugh and Watson, have been sharing the picture overnight, Pugh writing the sweetest caption of all “Tiny Ladies and Timmy 
.”
Chalamet posted a arty/just blurry BTS rehearsal shot of best mates Gerwig and Ronan back in October.

Little Women, the story of four sisters coming of age during the American Civil War, has been repeatedly adapted for film since 1917, including in 1933, featuring Katharine Hepburn, and a 1994 version starring Winona Ryder and Kirsten Dunst.
The latest adaptation is due out December 2019.
