If you’re reading this, it’s probably because you’re fiending for a sequel to Mean Girls, and you’re curiously stoked on Lindsay Lohan’s plans to make it a reality. Welp, here’s a fun fact for you: Mean Girls 2 already exists. Really.
Depending on how much of a Mean Girls Stan you are, the 2011 flick – which featured none of the major talent from the original – was either a bloodless cash-grab or a war crime punishable by the Hague.
In any case, it definitely wasn’t as good as its predecessor, which is probably why Lohan chimed in about her plans for her version of Mean Girls 2 during a Facebook Live chat with CNN.
During the conversation, which went down earlier today, Lohan said “I have been trying so hard to do a Mean Girls 2,” but “it is not in my hands.”
I know that Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels and all of Paramount are very busy. But I will keep forcing it and pushing it on them until we do it.I would love to have Jamie Lee Curtis, Jimmy Fallon in the movie. I’ve already written a treatment for it, I just need a response.”
TBQH, we’re not entirely sure where either Jamie Lee Curtis or Jimmy Fallon would fall into this one, but we’re guessing she’s eyeing to leverage her Freaky Friday connects for Curtis. Hell, why not.
She also said director Mark Waters would be stoked to return for the follow-up, which would indeed be rad – if it ever comes to fruition. Big if, there.
