Liam Hemsworth Cites “Irreconcilable Differences” In Reported Divorce From Miley Cyrus

Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus are officially, totally, legally donezo, according to divorce records obtained by PEOPLE and TMZ.

The outlets claim Aussie star Hemsworth filed the papers in Los Angeles, citing “irreconcilable differences” between himself and the singer/actor/occasional Flaming Lips co-conspirator.

Citing unnamed sources with knowledge of the situation, TMZ claims the couple signed a prenuptial agreement ahead of their December 2018 wedding. That means there’s slim chance of the pair litigating their split and contesting who owns what. So that’s nice.

The news comes not too long after Cyrus made headlines by snogging her mate Kaitlynn Carter on a Mediterranean getaway, and a handful of days after Hemsworth posted a Byron-esque (like the NSW town, not the romantic poet) Instagram wishing Cyrus well.

The pair met while filming 2010’s The Last Song and were together for much of the past nine years.

The two have been through a fair bit, too. Last year, their home burned to the ground in the devastating Malibu wildfires. In a lighter but no less abrupt development, they recently had to contend with Cyrus’ father Billy Ray becoming a viral star. Again.

All the best to the both of ’em.
