While Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus first announced their split with a very amicable and sweet statement, something always seemed a little suss about it.

“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Now, an insider has told Page Six that Liam was “blindsided” by the statement as he was in Australia at the time and Miley hadn’t communicated with him that she’d be telling the world just yet.
To make matters worse, hours after the statement was released, photos emerged of Cyrus kissing Kaitlynn Carter on a yacht in Italy.

Insiders close to Hemsworth reveal that the Hunger Games star was aware that the relationship was “crumbling” but he was determined to save the marriage and wasn’t ready to publicly announce their split.
This supports previous rumours that Miley was the one to end the marriage as she was fed up with Liam’s constant partying.
“Everyone always thinks Miley is problematic and immature and a hardcore partier while he’s this chill surfer dude, but that’s actually [not accurate],” a source previously told PEOPLE. “Liam parties with his friends, and Miley thinks he should’ve grown out of that by now.”
Another insider says Cyrus tried “valiantly” to save their marriage but couldn’t accept Liam’s “drinking a lot” and “using certain drugs”, via TMZ.
The source adds that the actor’s alleged drug use became a “deal breaker” for her as she was trying to steer clear from substances after her history of drug abuse.
Someone from Liam’s camp has vehemently denied the claims, telling TMZ that the real problem was Miley’s infidelity.
“This is another attempt by Miley to distract from her infidelity and recent outrageous public behaviour,” says the source.
