Lee Whiz: Set to Bowl Them Over

Wheatbix kid and perennial wonder, Brett Lee, is set to spearhead the Aussie attack in the 2011 cricket World Cup, due to start in India this week.

Lee, who is well liked in India – not only because of his cricketing ability, but his seminal Bollywood classic – flourished during the recent ODI tournament against England, taking 11 wickets in just 6 matches.

After 15 months away from the game, Lee has stated he is enjoying his cricket and has high hopes at making it four World Cup victories in a row.

“I might have surprised a few people by coming back into the game after a lengthy gap, but I am proud that I have survived (the injury). Now, I hope to lead from the front in the World Cup. If we play the right kind of cricket and with a bit of luck as well, there is no reason why we can’t go on and win the tournament.”

A successful World Cup campaign must surely raise the question of a test match comeback for Lee. Failing that, he can always return to india and pick-up where he left off: as a …singer..
