Lana Del Rey Did Not Hold Back In Her Response To Kanye West’s MAGA Post

American artist Lana Del Rey has confronted fellow artist Kanye West over his latest pro-Trump comments, writing that if West believes it is okay to support their president then he needs an intervention.

West, who was the musical guest on the 44th season premiere of Saturday Night Live, gave an impromptu speech after the show ended defending his right to back Donald Trump. Following his speech, West shared a picture of himself wearing his Make America Great Again cap. Attached to the image were words supporting his president and the apparent abolishment of the 13th Amendment.

The 13th Amendment abolished slavery and involuntary servitude, unless dealt as a prison sentence.

As you can expect, the caption and picture was met with swift criticism.

In response to the public outrage West clarified his original post with two further tweets which many interpreted as his support for prison reform, which West could pursue if he indeed chucks his name in the hat for president in 2020.

Del Rey’s full response reads:

Trump becoming our president was a loss for the country but your support of him is a loss for the culture.

I can only assume you relate to his personality on some level. Delusions of Grandeur, extreme issues with narcissism – none of which would be a talking point if we weren’t speaking about the man leading our country. If you think it’s alright to support someone who believes it’s OK to grab a woman by the pussy just because he’s famous – then you need an intervention as much as he does – something so many narcissists will never get because there just isn’t enough help for the issue.

Message sent with concern that will never be addressed.

At the time of writing, Del Rey’s comment had 129,859 likes.

On Twitter, Chris Evans retweeted West’s post writing that he found his actions “frustrating”.
