Kourtney Kardashian has announced that she no longer wishes to keep up with her famous family, and will be taking a break from their long-running show to focus on being a mother.
Kim’s older sister confirmed the news in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying that she’s not necessarily leaving for good, but she’ll be involved in the show less.
She said of her decision to prioritise motherhood:
“I just decided to spend more time as a mom and put more of my energy there. But I’m not saying goodbye. But I think you’ll have to see more of it on the new season, season 18. It isn’t airing yet, but it’s being filmed. Currently, in this room.”
Kourtney Kardashian, who has been a fixture on the show since the very beginning, has three children – Mason, Penelope and Reign – with former partner Scott Disick.
When asked if the series could continue after losing a sister, Khloe said:
“Yeah, we definitely love Kourtney and we will miss Kourtney and whatever she decides to do, but people come, people go all the time in this family. We feel like it’s a revolving door, so Kourtney might leave this week, she’ll be back. They all come back.”
The extent to which Kourt will be involved – or not – in new episodes of the show remains unclear. Based on her reaction to that Kim & Khloe Take Calabasas spinoff idea, though, we’d say she’s pretty keen to get out.
