Kit Harington & Rose Leslie’s Engagement Announce Is Old Fashioned Adorbs

As we all know by now, Game of Thrones star-crossed lovers Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are ENGAGED.

The news came from celebrity gossip mag PEOPLE, so while it was pretty much confirmed, it wasn’t confirmed confirmed, you know?

But that’s all over now, because we have the confirm. Kit and Rose posted their engagement announcement in the Times of London, of all places.

“The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire,” the announcement read (in the ‘Forthcoming Marriages‘ section, of course).

They’re certainly not the first celebs to make a wedding announcement the old fashioned way; Benedict Cumberbatch announced his engagement to Sophie Hunter via the same paper in 2014.

And it makes sense: neither celeb is on social media, and both are actually British nobility. Kit’s dad David is actually Sir David Richard Harington, 15th Baronet, and similar to Jon Snow’s unbeknownst royal blood, Kit has ancestral links to King Charles II. Rose is the daughter of the Aberdeenshire Chieftan of Clan Leslie, and grew up in a freaking castle.

The couple moved in together earlier this year, with Kit telling James Corden on The Late Late Show:

“I’ve moved in with my other best friend, Rose. So, I’m very. very happy and it’s going well. She has all sorts of ideas for the house … I said to her, because she moved into my house, ‘Look, darling, this is important that it’s our space, that it feels like our space and that you haven’t just moved into mine. Move anything you want around — change anything or chuck anything out.’

“I went to the shops and I came back and said, ‘What did you decide?’ And she said, ‘We’re moving the kitchen downstairs.’ ”
