In case you missed it, Kanye West has spent the bulk of his time today tweeting out a barrage of accusatory and increasingly troubling statements at and about Drake. Now, for some reason, his wife Kim Kardashian has waded into the fray, tweeting the following:
@drake Never threaten my husband or our family. He paved the way for there to be a Drake.

My husband is the most brilliant person, the most genius person that I know. He has broken so many boundaries, everything from music, stage design, fashion and culture and will continue to change the world.

Responses have been… mixed. Okay, aside from the many thousands of likes on both tweets, responses have mainly been suggesting that Kanye nicked Kim’s phone to tweet from her account.

Considering it’s currently about 2am Los Angeles time… they might be right.
Kanye’s rant at Drake was triggered by an apparently innocent request for a sample clearance for his 2009 track Say What’s Real, which samples Ye‘s 808s & Heartbreaks track Say You Will.
This prompted Kanye to put Drake on blast for throwing shade at him publicly, refusing to meet with him to talk things out, and then going and acting like things are all cool between them personally – cool enough to give sample clearance, anyway.
The ongoing tension between the two can be traced, at least in part, back to Pusha T outing Drake as a baby daddy – which some people think was at Kanye’s urging.

After taking a break for a bit during the middle of the day (our time), Ye came back with new accusations of Drake threatening him over the phone.
The whole rant totals about 700 words (which, for the record, is the exact opposite of what Twitter is designed for, but as if that’s going to stop Kanye West from doing exactly what he wants).
As for Kim K’s contribution, we’re just going to have to wait and see whether those tweets stick around. Who knows what kind of damage control tomorrow will bring, presumably executed under the hawkish eye of Kris Jenner. In the meantime, send Kanye some good vibes – the bloke obviously needs them.
