Kevin Hart, comedian, actor and good Instagram doer, has used his preferred comedy medium (Instagram) to come clean about something pretty fucking serious: the fact that he cheated on his pregnant wife, Eniko Parrish.
More seriously, he found himself in the unenviable position of having to admit to his wrongdoing on a public platform in order to avoid a blackmail attempt.
According to TMZ, a woman has come forward saying she has videos of Hart cheating on his wife with another women, and was demanding payment in order to stop their release. The videos apparently aren’t explicit, but show “sexually suggestive” conduct.
Rather than pay up, Hart chose to own up, with a confessional Instagram vid.
I’m at a place in my life where I feel like I have a target on my back, and because of that I should make smart decisions. And recently, I didn’t. You know I’m not perfect. I’m not goin to sit up here and say that I am or claim to be in any way shape or form.
I made a bad error in judgement, put myself in an environment where only bad things could happen – and they did. And in doing that I know that I’m going to hurt the people closest to me, who I’ve talked to and apologised to, that would be my wife and kids.
It’s a shitty moment when you know you’re wrong and there’s no excuses for your wrong behaviour. At the end of the day man, I just simply have got to do better. But I’m also not going to allow a person to have financial gain off of my mistakes and in this particular situation that was what was attempted. I said I’d rather fess up to my mistakes.
The video has now been viewed more than 1.7 million times. As for the other vids – they have yet to surface.
