Make of this what you will, but so help me this… this doesn’t actually look as awful as I thought it might? And the more I read into it, the more convinced I am that this has the potential to be surprisingly funny.
The red band trailer (read: absolutely NSFW) for Get Hard – the upcoming comedy starring Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart – has landed, and it makes it look like the film will be entirely nuts.
Ferrell stars as James King, a businessman who is wrongly convicted of tax evasion. To prepare him for a decade behind bars, he enlists the help of his friend Darnell Lewis (Kevin Hart) who pretends to be tough, but is as middle class as they come.
Written by the team of Jay Martel (Key & Peele) and Ian Roberts (also Key & Peele and founding member of the Upright Citizens Brigade) and directed by first-timer Etan Cohen (who has written for Beavis & Butthead, King of the Hill, as well as penning scripts for Idiocracy and Tropic Thunder) the film also stars Alison Brie, Edwina Findley and Craig T. Nelson.
It’s scheduled for release on March 27th. Consider me cautiously keen.
