Kendall Jenner Explains Why The Frick She Suddenly Nixed Her Instagram

You wanna know what kind of world we live in?

The kind of world where a model deletes Instagram and ends up on The Ellen DeGeneres Show two days later to talk about it.

Yes, Kendall Jenner nixed her Insta account earlier this week, and we can blah and bleat all we want about how it’s not bloody news, but the fact is all of us read it. (And if we didn’t read it, then we’re commenting on this story now, thereby ensuring that not only do more people see the story in the Newsfeed, but Facebook will think you’re super interested in the Kardashians. I know, vicious cycles. Blame Zuckerberg.)

Fans, of course, were devastated. Theories as to why ranged from big sister Kim Kardashian‘s recent traumatic experience to the fact that Kendall recently lost a court case against a total stranger who’d been hanging around her home. (Shavaughn McKenzie was found not-guilty of stalking but guilty of trespassing.)

Kendall has now explained to Ellen that she simply needed a chance to detox.

“It’s so crazy to me that it even became huge news like that,” one of the most famous models in the world said. “I mean I guess I didn’t expect it, but I also took my Twitter off my phone. I didn’t delete Twitter entirely but I took the app off my phone, so I had no idea anyone was even talking about it, I honestly didn’t even think anyone would even care.”

Before she disappeared, Kendall had a tidy 68.6 MILLION followers. A now iconic pic she posted last year with her hair arranged in little hearts set a new record for most likes on a photo (over 3.6 million likes), before she was ousted from that throne by Justin Bieber‘s throwback of him and Selena Gomez.

“I just wanted to detox,” she explained to Ellen. “I felt like I just wanted a little bit of a break. I’m always on it. … I would wake up in the morning and I would look at it first thing. I would go to bed and it was the last thing I would look at. I felt a little too dependent on it, so I kinda wanted to take a minute to detox.”

But NEVER FEAR. She’s getting sucked back into the ol’ Gram just like the rest of us.

“I’ll be back. I’ll come back. It’s been two days! Withdrawals are starting to occur.”

TBH, she might be part of the most famous family in the world, but most people can relate to the need for a digital detox. You do you, Kenny.
