Friends of the internet, gather around, and allow me to share with you one of the strangest things that the denizens of TikTok have cooked up in a long time. Clearly, we’re all just very bored in lockdown, but if it creates content like this, I’m not complaining.

Recently on TikTok, there has been a trend in which people will take Lil Nas X‘s song MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) and put it over the top of TV show intros just to see how perfectly the two line up.

There have been some stunning successes with the trend, as the song oddly fits with pretty much anything you can think of.

Here’s an example of the trend with the Phineas and Ferb intro. I have no idea how one even discovers that something like this works, but hey, it’s pretty damn cool.

Aussie TikTok user @hellomotherleopard has done the lord’s work, and has taken this trend and applied it to Aussie TV classics Kath & Kim and Home & Away.

Shockingly, Lil Nas X’s super-viral bop also blends seamlessly with both of these intros as well.

Nothing like kicking off an ep of one of Australia’s best sitcoms by playing a banger from one of the most brilliant queer musicians out there atm. This, friends, is the gay agenda.

You can have a watch of the Kath & Kim video paired with MONTERO, which has already amassed over 100K views.

it’s nice, it’s different, it’s unusual…

And here’s MONTERO plastered over the old Home & Away intro.

I have no idea why, but this one works exceptionally well. It must be the fact that everyone’s hair is blowing in the wind while they smile in the sunshine.

Either that or Lil Nas X really is just that powerful.

And just in case you weren’t convinced, the same TikToker has put MONTERO over the intro to Everybody Loves Raymond, and yep, it works just as well.

To be fair, that intro is so iconic that anything could probably blend well with it.

If you need me I’m going to be checking out every TV intro I can think of to see what else matches up with Lil Nas X. Lockdown boredom? I don’t know her.
