Kanye West‘s Twitter account has been very quiet of late; both he and his wife Kim Kardashian West – both of whom are prolific users of social media – have taken a digital break after an exceedingly tumultuous second half of the year.
However, after Kanye met with Trump today, media went batshit nuts (yup, us included); we all wanted to know exactly why a previously-progressive rapper was meeting with the commercial leader of the right and future President of the United States of America.
Speculation was rife, especially since both Trump and Yeezy were extremely secretive about the meeting when speaking to press directly after.
Trump told cameras they’d “been friends for a long time” and just talked about “life”. West declined to make a statement, calmly telling a journalist, “I just want to take a picture right now”.

Reports are emerging that Trump is considering Kanye as “ambassador of sorts”. A source ‘close to Kanye‘ told E! that Trump would like the rapper to be in an “entrepreneurial leadership role”. Reportedly, Trump‘s team reached out to Yeezy about the role because he “thinks he’s a great role model when it comes to business”.
Kanye has now resurrected his iconic Twitter account to shut down ~tha rumourz~ and give some context to the situation.
He tells fans that he met with Trump to “discuss multicultural issues”.
I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues.

I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.

While Ye has previously said he will run for President in 2020, the potential pushback of four years is interesting – it could very likely mean he doesn’t want to run against Trump, and will only run once the future President has had his full two terms in the White House.

We dunno, hey. We’ll just leave this absolutely 11/10 ‘Trump on WWE’ gif here one more time for ya’ll:
