Yes, that actually is being remade among a gazillion other Disney classics. This one in particular will be part live-action, part CG according to the team over at ColliderFor reference of this part-CG project, I’m going to point us all in the direction of the wildly successful The Jungle Book. That hybrid baby was an absolute delight and lived up to Jon Favreau’s impeccable reputation as very, very good filmmaker.

Known for his roles in TV series, The Leftovers and 2001 film Mulholland DriveTheroux is looking to voice Tramp, the tough boy who falls in love with pampered pooch, Lady.

Pictured: Theroux preparing for his role (not really).

This remake will be released on Disney’s upcoming streaming service when it launches in 2019… Netflix is about to cop some more very serious competition.

Charlie Bean, director behind The LEGO Ninjago Movie and The Powerpuff Girls Movie is set to direct the flick. Bean was also a part of the art department for absolute classics Samurai Jack and Adventures of the Gummi Bears so things are looking good.

Speaking of Disney’s streaming service, a bunch of brand new series are expected to bring joy to our lives including the return of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The beloved animated series was abruptly cancelled four years ago but has since been revived for one last hurrah.

According to reports, there’ll also be a High School Musical series and an animated Monsters Inc. show as well as another Star Wars title but live-action. Favreau’s in charge of that latter one so money – goodbye.

While we’re all here:

As for Theroux, his latest flick The Spy Who Dumped Me starring the fabulous Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon will land in cinemas August 9, 2018.
