Julian Assange has announced the launch of a “new Assange TV series” featuring “in-depth conversations with key political players, thinkers and revolutionaries from around the world.” in what could be a preemptive strike against Ten’s forthcoming hacker TV series Underground – The Julian Assange Story.
On a message posted to the official Wikileaks website, Assange outlined his vision for the series which will air in mid-March, in ten weekly half-hour episodes. “Through this series I will explore the possibilities for our future in conversations with those who are shaping it,” he said. “This is an exciting opportunity to discuss the vision of my guests in a new style of show that examines their philosophies and struggles in a deeper and clearer way than has been done before.”
Assange is currently under house arrest in the UK.
