Judith Lucy Tackles Spirituality In New ABC Series

Did you know that Australia is the second driest continent on earth? Scientists blame fluctuating air pressures between Asia and the East Pacific but we attribute it to the most arid natural resource Australia has ever produced, Judith Lucy. Her droll delivery and incisive observational skills rarely disappoint and we’re very excited to watch her six part ABC series which premieres next month, Judith Lucy’s Spiritual Journey. From initial looks Spiritual Journey finds Lucy play intrepid atheist (ala John Safran in John Safran Vs. God) and investigate modern spirituality via a process of trial and error. Says the ABC: “From outback odysseys to new-age healing rituals, rebel churches and silent meditation retreats, rebirthing in a bathtub to yoga on the Ganges, Judith will try just about anything – including a Tantric massage – to discover if there’s something spiritual that floats her boat.”

“Will I find answers or just disappear up my own ass?” Lucy asks at one point. I guess we’ll have to watch and find out.

Judith Lucy’s Spiritual Journey premieres Wednesday, 27 July at 9.30pm on ABC1.
