English chap Orlando Higginbottom, otherwise known as rather good electronic music-maker Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, is in Australia right now for a tour, but following an awkward experience with a journalist after a Melbourne gig, he may not be so keen to come back.
Higginbottom spoke to the anonymous – and as of today, probably very embarrassed – writer backstage before the show. The journalist left behind some notes when the interview was done, and the contents turned out to be very unfortunate.
Someone, presumably an editor who’d had a previous run-in with Higginbottom, had warned the journo ahead of time that he is “fucking boring to interview”, “doesn’t give much eye contact at all” and “doesn’t smile,” and the notes were printed right there on the page.
ROOKIE MISTAKE.
Hittonbottom took it in fairly good spirits, and posted a photo of the notes to Facebook after the gig, saying “don’t leave your interview notes behind kids” and dryly noting that it’s “all true”.
A few of us on the PTV team have interviewed Higginbottom before and can confirm that he was nothing but rainbows and smiles.
