Please Like The Trailer For Josh Thomas’s Very Sweet-Looking New TV Show

It’s been a long two-and-a-half years since the final Please Like Me went to air, but we’ve finally got a sneak peak at Josh Thomas‘ long-awaited follow-up series, Everything’s Gonna Be Okay. And in case you were worried: Do not be. It looks sweet as hell.

The critical success of Please Like Me put Thomas on the radar of several US networks, including the Disney-owned cable network Freeform, who gave Thomas a pilot order for a new half-hour comedy series last May.

Following that, the show was picked up for a full series run in December, with Freeform giving Everything’s Gonna Be Okay a 10-episode for the new series, which also stars Thomas in the central role.

The new show revolves around Nicholas, a “neurotic 25-year-old still living at home with his single dad and two teenage half-sisters, one of which has autism,” who has to take a leading role in raising his half-siblings after their father passes away.

Freeform posted the trailer, taken from footage from the pilot (which will likely be re-shot), earlier this morning. Fair warning: It looks remarkably good.

Thomas noted on Twitter this afternoon that the series is set to begin full production next week, but Freeform posted the trailer today regardless and it caught the production a little off-guard.

There’s no set air date for the show at this stage (again, it hasn’t even begun shooting yet), nor is there any word on whether beloved dog John will appear in the new series.

Still, all signs so far? Promising. Very promising.
