Jordan Peele Backs NFL Player Fined For Thrust In IRL ‘Key & Peele’ Sketch

Life imitates art… which imitates life, which apparently imitates Key & Peele.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer was slapped with a US $11,000 fine today, after celebrating his side’s latest win over the Seattle Seahawks with a full-blooded pelvic thrust. The NFL has some pretty strict rules on… basically everything, really, and “excessive celebrations” are no exception.

Palmer maintains he was directing the outburst at his mates in the stands and not opposing fans who may *gasp* have taken offense to the action.
Of course, the thrust also has the distinction of being the only celebration immortalised in a classic Key & Peele sketch.
Naturally, news of the fine hit Jordan Peele; haunted by the memories of one Hingle McCringleberry, Peele reacted in the only way that made sense: letting loose on Twitter.

Obviously, three is just out of the question these days. Incensed by the restrictions and tapping into some thrust-happy public sentiment, Peele took it upon himself to champion the most righteous of causes – A fundraiser to pay off the fine in Palmer’s honour.

As of writing, over US $2000 has been raised for the very real ‘thrust fund.’

You do you, America.
