You have to accept three things when you sign on to do a reality TV show: you will end up doing a lot of terrible TV spots in the years that follow, you will not be able control how you are presented, and people are going to tell you you’re a dickhead if you’ve acted like a dickhead.
Andrew “Jonesy” Jones has acted like a dickhead. After he and pretend ‘Married At First Sight‘ wife Cheryl went through some difficult times, he started to act out – completely throwing Cheryl under the bus during a booze-fuelled boys night where everyone except sweet angels Simon and Sean slapped each other’s asses and heaped shit on her. Classy stuff.
It gets worse, though. Apparently pretty convinced that he was in the clear (he wasn’t, there’s video evidence – it’s a TV show, mate), went on the offensive at last night’s dinner party. He ticked every box in the shitty manipulative man playbook, trying to convince Cheryl that she was emotional and irrational and completely wrong about what went down. Except she wasn’t.
Despite getting Anthony and Nick to lie for him on his behalf (great work dickheads), Simon and Sean backed up the real version of events, making it pretty clear that Jonesy was being a huge deadshit. Needless to say, the internet was not very happy with him.
Clearly not happy with the internet either, Andrew has since deleted his Instagram after copping a wave of backlash from viewers.
He’s even gone into hiding, according to ‘NW Magazine‘, staying indoors so as to avoid unpleasant run-ins with fans.
Obviously, we don’t condone bullying and no one should have to live in fear, but it’s very understandable that people would be upset with what was very much the early stages of abusive relationship behaviour.
Mate, if you don’t like her, maybe just tell her like an adult, don’t be a dick.
