Jon Hamm Had A Weird Backstage Encounter With Trump At An ‘SNL’ Cast Party

Jon Hamm has a bit of a propensity for playing dicks – Don Draper, his character in Bridesmaids – but in real life terms, he seems like he’d be a pretty swell guy to be around, which is what makes this weird tale that extra bit baffling.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Hamm opened up about a bizarre experience that took place at a Saturday Night Live after-party in midtown Manhattan, after Donald Trump hosted an episode of the show in 2016.

Hamm, a frequent guest on SNL, says he was hanging out at the party when he was approached by Trump and his friend, the disgraced Fox News host Bill O’Reilly. He said of their encounter:

They’re both tall dudes. And I’m a tall dude. And they both do that tall-dude thing, which is try to intimidate you. And it doesn’t work on me. I’m like, ‘I’m as alpha as you. Let’s go. You’re not going to chest-bump me.’ It was a very weird night. It was the shortest I’ve ever stayed at an ‘S.N.L.’ after-party.

He did not embellish any further on the story, or explain why Trump took such an apparent dislike to him – maybe he’s just #TeamBetty or something, we may never know.

Nonetheless, Donald Trump Jr has become aware of the story, and took to Twitter to offer Jon Hamm some bro’d out words of wisdom on the subject.

Sad!
