John Oliver Takes On H&M, Zara And The Business Of Cheap Fashion

If you’re in the business of buying up armloads of affordable clothes from high street fashion retailers – looks down at own ensemble, shakes head – you likely feel a lingering sense of guilt as to where your outfit comes from, and how it gets to you so cheaply.

On the latest edition of Last Week Tonight, the always incisive John Oliver explored this very question, and took the CEOs of major fashion retailers to task for raking in massive profits while engaging in questionable labour practices.

Trendy clothes are cheaper than ever. That sounds great for the people who buy them, but it’s horrible for the people who make them.
