Note to the toxic exes of Taylor Swift, don’t think you can weasel your way onto TikTok without copping the wrath of her loyal legion of followers.
One of said exes, John Mayer, joined TikTok recently and, erm, let’s just say he wasn’t welcomed at all by Taylor Swift fans.
His debut video was immediately pummelled with hate from Swifties. Just have a go at this screengrab, will ya?

The TikTok in question shows John Mayer trying to figure out how to work the video-sharing app and it’s very ‘How do you do fellow kids?’ areas.

Think I’m being too harsh by calling him a toxic ex? Have you fucking HEARD the iconic but heartbreaking Taylor Swift ballad, ‘Dear John’?
In the track, which appeared on one of my fave Taylor Swift albums, Speak Now, Taylor details all the shit John did to her in not-so cryptic fashion (she put his name IN the title. What a power move).
From living in his “chess game” and constantly being “messed with” by the singer when she was fucken’ 19, let’s just say Taylor didn’t have a good run with ol’ John.
This part in particular lives rent-free in my mind. Taylor Swift is a lyrical fucking genius:
