You’ve probably seen that straight up bullshit interview Cara Delevingne did with Good Day Sacramento, where the hosts were rude AF, suggesting ‘Carla’ take a nap / get a Red Bull because they mistook her irritation with their shitty questions for ‘being tired’.
John Green, author of Paper Towns (the very reason for said interview), also saw it. Wasn’t a fan. Decided to write a piece explaining Cara’s attitude entitled “But did you read the book?”
Here’s Cara’s actual response to that question:
John Green wrote:
“Cara has read the book (multiple times), but the question is annoying – not least because her male costar, Nat Wolff, was almost always asked when he’d read the book, while Cara was almost always asked if she’d read it.”
“[Cara] refuses to indulge in lazy questions and refuses to turn herself into an automaton to get through long days of junketry. I don’t find that behaviour entitled or haughty. I find it admirable. Cara Delevingne doesn’t exist to feed your narrative or your news feed – and that’s precisely why she’s so fucking interesting.”
Green published the piece on Medium, but – plot twist – didn’t tell Cara. She tweeted her support of the author before even knowing who the hell he was:
Whoever said this! Thank you so much! pic.twitter.com/PyshC8DqNG

And then he replied:
KAYUTE.
Like everything else he’s ever written (books, tweets, post-its, etc), John Green’s piece is absolutely worth a read, because he explains the press tour circle jerk both eloquently and with oodles of class. [Do so HERE]
For the record, Cara was just as impressed with that interview as the rest of the world – i.e. not at all.
Some people just don’t understand sarcasm or the British sense of humour

I work really really hard and love what I do, I don’t feel like I need to apologize for being human #sorrynotsorry
