Josh Brolin Has Officially Snapped Half The Thanos Subreddit Out Of Existence

On a long enough timeframe, every online fan community is destined to split over some inane conflict. Still, few forums decide that randomly eliminating 50% of their userbase is a good idea – and even fewer can actually enlist a star to do the banning.

Now, Josh Brolin, who portrays big Marvel baddie Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, has given his official snap of approval to a wild plan cooked up by the users of Reddit’s /r/ThanosDidNothingWrong.

Let’s back up for a minute.

In the film, Thanos manages to assemble all of the Infinity Stones, giving him god-like powers over the universe. With a snap of his fingers, the blue-faced deity eliminates half of all life, turning heroes like Spider-Man, Black Panther, and The Guardians Of The Galaxy into dust.

In honour of that mass disintegration, /r/ThanosDidNothingWrong decided it would be fitting to wipe out half of its own userbase. The plan was approved by Reddit’s admins.

Paradoxically, the forum’s userbase quickly swelled to over 575,000. And some users called for Brolin himself to be the one to actually swing the banhammer.

Marvel brass clearly caught word of the hype. The Russo Brothers, who directed the bloody film, both subscribed. And, evidently, someone informed old mate Brolin.

So, this morning, Brolin posted an Instagram video of his ceremonial finger-snap, heralding the mass ban.

The cull is slated to take place in the next few hours, and never again will Marvel fans be so happy to be kicked out of their own online community.
