This very weekend, Australia’s fourth-wealthiest person and generally fairly private individual James Packer announced, via a series of totally spontaneous and not-at-all pre-arranged paparazzi shots, that he is sharing grown-up kisses with Mariah Carey.
After the pair were spotted holding hands in Capri, Italy, they returned to Packer’s boat, where they set sail for Sardinia, and where Carey has busily been uploading happy snaps of her adorable offspring, like the below.
It was like a fairy tale. A slightly gross fairy tale, but a fairy tale nonetheless. That is, until Packer’s ex Jodhi Meares showed up, looking like a Married At First Sight cast member out of containment.
Overnight, Meares shared a picture on Instagram, that showed her … actually, we have no idea why she’s there, or what kind of emotional turmoil the below picture conceals.
Is she there to offer her blessing to the happy couple? Or to send not-so-subtle ‘The Boy Is Mine’ vibes Mariah’s way. The caption tells us little, but her eyes are screaming.

Meares was married to Packer from 1999-2002, and although they have long since separated, they reportedly remain close, and he has been a source of support throughout incidents like this one.
Last year, Packer was rumoured to have taken supermodel Miranda Kerr for a cruise aboard the very same yacht, although whatever was going on there, he kept it pretty quiet.
By contrast, he appears to be flaunting this relationship with Carey, who was recently rumoured to be dating Brett Ratner, who runs a production company with Packer, who swallowed the spider to catch the fly.
