JK Rowling is Publishing a Dolores Umbridge Story on Halloween

Great news, Harry Potter fans – JK Rowling has just announced the publication of a brand new short story, spinning off from her immensely popular series of novels.
BBC America report that, on October 31, Rowling is all set to publish a story about former Hogwarts headmistress, cat-lover and all-round unpleasant piece of work Dolores Umbridge.
A post on the Pottermore website promises “a rich, 1,700-word back story about Umbridge’s life filled with many new details,” which presumably will give fans an insight into why exactly she is the worst.
Rowling has also promised “revealing first-person thoughts and reflections about the character,” who, as the site points out, is “the only person other than Lord Voldemort to leave a permanent physical scar on Harry.”
That, of course, would be thanks to the time in which Umbridge made Harry scrawl “I must not tell lies” onto his hand with a cursed quill, which still makes us feel queasy.
There’s not much else to say about the story at this point, except bring on freakin’ Halloween.
