After unleashing our very first look at our deeply revered warrior Mulan, Disney has announced some more casting news for the 2020 live-action spectacular. Joining the already elite cast are actors Jimmy Wong and Doua Moua as Ling and Po, respectively.
You’ll no doubt remember Ling and Po as part of The Gang of Three who help Mulan defeat the Huns.
Here’s Ling on the left and the lovable Chien-Po in the middle:
Per Deadline, there’s still no word yet on whether or not Yao (the right one) will appear in the live-action adaption but here’s hoping he does.
Wong, absolutely brimming with excitement, posted the news to his Twitter with the words “I’M GOING TO BE IN MULAN”.
Damn right you are! You might recognise the lad from the series Video Game High School which is up on Netflix if you want to give it a go. As for Moua, well he has Gran Torino bragging rights which stars Clint Eastwood.
As Wong tweeted, he found out the news back in December so imagine having to hold onto that piece of information for EIGHT months.
Hi everyone. Back in December I found out I got the role of a lifetime, and 8 months later I can finally tell you all about it:

I’M GOING TO BE IN MULAN
I’m joined by some absolute legends as I reprise the role of LING from the original. I can’t wait 🙂https://t.co/G0ETQQSlSz
As for those “absolute legends” we’ve got the unstoppable force of Donnie Yet (Ip Man, Rogue One) as Commander Tung and Mulan’s mentor. Jet (bloody) Li will play the emperor; Gong Li (Memoirs of a Geisha, Miami Vice) is locked into play the film’s villain; and Jason Lee Scott (Power Rangers) shall play Bori Khan, a fierce warrior leader who teams up with the villain.
As for our main two characters – we have Liu Yifei in the titular role and Yoson An, as Chen Honghui… the one who has apparently replaced Li Shang.
An is a relatively new face to the industry but if you’re keen to see him in action then you can catch him in the crazy action flick Mega Time Squad.
March 27, 2020 – mark it in your calendars.
P.S
OOOOFT.
