Friends, it is with a heavy heart that I must announce the end of JLo (Jennifer Lopez) and A-Rod (Alexander Rodriguez), who not only have fun nicknames to say together, but were also a super cute celebrity couple. Alas, in the words of Nelly Furtado, all good things come to an end.
The pair announced in an official joint statement that their relationship was officially over, smashing the hearts of many across the globe, who once believed that love was real.
“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,” the couple told NBC’s Today in their statement.
“We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children.
Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”
And just like that, it’s over.
JLo sparked a few rumours of breakup after she posted this pic from the set of Shotgun Wedding, in which she wasn’t wearing her engagement ring. Ouch.
Just last month the couple released a joint statement to say that they definitely weren’t breaking up, so you could imagine why this news just plays with our emotions.

And how is A-Rod dealing with the break-up, I hear you ask? Well, you can see for yourself on his Instagram. It may look all fine and dandy at first glance, but when you start to read the captions you realise that the man is truly cracking.
Moments before the announcement of the split, this sad video of a bunch of picture frames appeared on A-Rod’s story. Yikes.
I’m crying… out of cringe.

Secondly, we have motivational A-Rod telling his followers to focus on THEMSELVES and be the best version they can be. Love this for him.
And then there’s this, which has one of the most batshit captions I’ve ever seen.
It’s like a diary entry? Where he also asks people what their favourite TV shows are? A-Rod if you need a hug blink twice behind the sunnies.
Then he posted this video of him alone in Yankee Stadium, just… vibing in a hoodie.
Good for you, A-Rod. Self-care is the best care.
JLo on the other hand is looking fabulous as always. Quite a different response.
It’ll be interesting to see if the two appear boo’d up over the next few months. I mean, who knows what can happen, this is showbiz baybee.
