Jemaine Clement & Taika Waititi’s ‘Wellington Paranormal’ Cops A 2nd Season

Good news folks, Wellington Paranormal – unholy spin-off to What We Do In The Shadows has copped a second season.

The undoubtedly spoooooooky mockumentary series from Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi reunites us with innocent coppers Karen O’Leary and Mike Minogue. The unstoppable duo are recruited by Maaka Pohatu to investigate a string of paranormal activities across Wellington. I’m talking aliens, werewolves, zombies, and possessed projectile-blood-vomiting demon people.

On Twitter, New Zealand on Air unleashed the good news writing:

“NZ’s finest (and only) paranormal crime-fighting Officers will be back and protecting the streets of our capital in 2019.”

And unlike season one (six episodes), season two will have 13 (!!!) which is bloody good news for the cast and crew.

As for the American What We Do In The Shadows spin-off series, this will appear on FX with Waititi and Clement serving as executive producers. The show is set in Staten Island, New York and each episode will run for thirty minutes.

According to Clement, a pilot for the show will debut at the 2018 New York Comic Con on October 7 so stay tuned. Interestingly, the show has the same title as the film – read more about it, HERE

Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, and Harvey Guillen star.

The series is set to debut in the United States during their Spring 2019.

There’s also the werewolf spin-off film currently named We’re Wolves, which as you can tell by that punny name, will focus on werewolves from the original film.

Although, don’t expect this film spin-off anytime soon. Waititi told Indirewire last year that “You aren’t going to see it for seven years.

“We are notoriously terrible at writing together, Jemaine and I. Usually takes place over emails. So we’ll email each other one line of dialogue once a month. ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ took six years to write.”

In other words, lots and lots of good things are slowly on its way and will no doubt, be worth the wait.
