Ya Boi Jean-Ralphio Is Voicing ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ In The Live Action Movie

The live action/CGI hybrid Sonic The Hedgehog movie that is clearly going to whip immense sack has finally found itself a voice for its titular little blue dude: Ben Schwartz.

The man formerly known as Jean-Ralphio Saperstein has officially signed on to provide the voice of Sonic in the upcoming movie, which is set for a release towards the end of next year.

Schwartz (or, at least, his voice) joins a cast that features the real bodies of James MarsdenTika Sumpter, and Jim Carrey.

Jeff Fowler, who previously scored a Best Animated Short Academy Award nomination in 2005 for Gopher Broke, is making his feature film directorial debut for the film, which reportedly centres around “juvenile delinquent” Sonic and a human cop teaming up to take on the ever-present threat of Doctor Eggman.

Jim Carrey is playing Eggman, because of course he is, while Marsden is filling the role of human cop Tom Wachowski. There’s no word yet on what role Sumpter is filling in the film.

Schwartz commented on the casting via Twitter a short time ago, noting that, among other things, he is keen to go very fast indeed.

It’s not the first time Schwartz has filled a voice-acting role for a major animation project; previously, he recently voiced Dewey Duck in the Disney Channel’s modern reboot of DuckTales. A-woo-oo.

There is not a chance in hell this movie isn’t going to rule incredibly. I bet my house on it. I bet everyone’s house on it.

It will rule and it will rule especially hard if it sucks. No lose situation here, folks.

Sonic the Hedgehog is tentatively scheduled for release on November 15th, 2019.
