James Corden’s Producin’ A New Show On His Rap Battle Bit, ‘Drop The Mic’

Yikes – we bloody love James Corden, but we’re sure as hell not jealous of his bursting schedule.
After the news that Corden’s insanely popular ‘Carpool Karaoke‘ bit had gotten so large that it was becoming its own show with Apple Music, it’s now been announced that a second segment from his late night talk show is being turned into a separate show also – ‘Drop the Mic’
Corden will be an executive producer of the show, but will not appear on it (same as the new ‘Carpool Karaoke‘ show).
The show, also titled ‘Drop the Mic’, pits four celebrities against each other in a rap battle, with the audience choosing a winner.
You might remember Cara Delevingne‘s particularly unforgettable performance against Dave Franco earlier this year:
The producer of ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden‘ Ben Winston said this about the new show:
‘Drop the Mic‘ is such an exciting show, and we can’t wait to begin making it. Every time we have done this segment on ‘The Late Late Show,’ it has become a massive viral moment.

Now with TBS as our perfect partner, we hope to create some really memorable television.”
The 16-episode series will apparently air next year.
