After a month between uploads, Hill returned to her YouTube channel to explain “Where I’ve Been.” The 19-minute video is probably a little longer than it should be but AH WELL, this is YouTube after all.

“The purpose of today’s video is to get myself back into a mental headspace where I can just get back to doing what I love and that is makeup tutorials,” she said.

I’ve wanted to create and own my own cosmetic brand… since I was 20-years-old and that has always been my dream and that’s why this whole thing has been so hard for me because I completely failed.

Hill added that she was so confident about her new range, to the point of cockiness.

I did not have a quality control team big enough to handle what I was doing at all and I totally messed up. And the fact that I had to mess up and show my ass in front of millions of people who love me and trust me sucks.

“It’s important for you guys to know how sorry I am and how embarrassed I am,” she continued. “This has just been shocking, it’s been shocking. I messed up in more than one way. I was way too overconfident in my launch and not enough involved in quality control.”

Hill said she was so disturbed by her botched products, she lost sleep over it.

“With all that being said, I am beyond grateful for everything I have learned throughout this process. It’s been a rough ride but I am honestly grateful for it.”

If not you’re not across this all, here’s a little refresher.

Last month, Hill copped bulk heat after users described her new lipstick range as “lumpy”, with visible “tiny hairs” across its edges. Hill didn’t shy away from the complaints though and addressed the tiny hairs, tweeting that they did not belong to her.

“My factory used brand new white gloves to do quality control & they shed all over my product!???? We switched to rubber gloves 2 days ago & will make sure this never happens again.”

At the time, Hill also tweeted an apology to her fans for the “grittiness and bumpy texture” on her lipsticks.

“I am so sorry to see some of you dissatisfied with my product. I will make it right for you and learn from the mistake. That’s a promise.”

Hill said all customers affected received a full refund.
