J.K. Rowling’s First Post-Potter Movie Revealed

The Harry Potter companion book that prepubescent you would have done terrible terrible things to own is becoming a movie #!!!

Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander is currently being screenwritten by successful and exceedingly wealthy Muggle woman J.K.Rowling.

The A-Z of magical creatures will feature characters from the Harry Potter universe as it follows the life and times of well-known textbook author and much respected Magizoologist Newton Artemis Fido Scamander.

Rowling has said of her screenwriting debut that “although it will be set in the worldwide community of witches and wizards where I was so happy for 17 years, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world. The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt’s story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry’s gets underway.”

Noted future possibilities amongst the fandom chatter include a young Dumbledore cameo (was bros with Scamander) and a follow-up Quidditch Through the Ages film.
