You might have forgotten, but it’s definitely happening: legendary science fiction film and New South Wales high school English text Blade Runner is copping a fresh sequel next year.
Details have been light, apart from the fact that Ryan Gosling and Jared Leto are along for the ride and its directed by Denis Villeneuve – who is absolutely great, which is always a plus – but now we’re really starting to get the info trickling through as production presumably ramps up.
A tweet this morning from the official Blade Runner account revealed the name of the film. It’s not Blade Runner II: Electric Boogaloo or Ryan Gosling Presents Ryan Gosling’s Blade Runner. It’s called… Blade Runner 2049.

Nice. Apart from Jared Leto – sorry – this is a great cast, and it has a great director, so we have high hopes for this ‘un.
