Say it to yourself. Whisper it, even. “Britney Spears… Lifetime movie…” Now tell me that doesn’t set off trash butterflies in your stomach.
The first trailer for Lifetime’s feature about America‘s pop star – titled ‘Britney Ever After‘, if you thought this couldn’t get better/worse – was unveiled on Monday, featuring Natasha Bassett as the singer through her tumultuous 2007 breakdown and the events leading up to it.
“I’m not going to say I’m fine ’cause I wasn’t,” she says in the trailer. Obviously, it features the infamous head-shaving episode, but also glimpses of her 2004 wedding to Kevin Federline, immortalised here by Clayton Chitty.
You know her name, but do you know her story? #BritneyEverAfter premieres, February 18th at 8/7c. pic.twitter.com/IADZsZe9x2

Not featured (yet): Jillian Walchuck as Paris Hilton and Nathan Keyes as Justin Timberlake.
‘Britney Ever After’ the latest in Lifetime’s long line of musician biopics, including ones of Whitney Houston and Aaliyah. Up next? Michael Jackson.
Reactions to the trailer have been mixed; without Britney’s blessing, some of her stans aren’t exactly happy their idol’s most tumultuous period in her life is being used for entertainment.
Tragic trailer. No Britney blessing. Bringing back what Britney is running away from to everyone’s eyes. Hope this flops hard https://t.co/ZhL5HPsJNN

Lifetime movies might be trash, but it will it be the *good* kind of trash? TBD.
