The Suit From The Original ‘Iron Man’ Movie Has Reportedly Been Stolen

You know what we don’t see enough of these days? Grand heists of incredibly valuable movie memorabilia. Maybe it’s because everything is CGI now, but you just don’t read wonderful tales about priceless artefacts from Hollywood‘s past being stolen by crooks, crims, ne’er-do-wells and flimflam artists like you used to.

This might tide you over, though: the LAPD is currently investigating the supposed theft of the original Iron Man suit. You know, the one from the first Iron Man film back in 2008. It didn’t have all the cool nanotechnology that the new one has in Infinity War, but it could still murder people with wrist-mounted rocket launchers, so it’s still a cool suit, okay?

The suit – which has a value of around $325,000 – reportedly disappeared from a Los Angeles prop storage facility. The LAPD confirmed that a police report has been filed, but it’s not actually entirely clear whether it was actually stolen or not. One thing is certain, though: it is gone.

Police were called when the owners of the storage facility “just happened to check” on the suit on Tuesday, only to find it missing. This would be a really easy opportunity to say that the suit was stolen by Thanos or Loki or some shit like that, but because I respect you as an audience I won’t actually say that.

We’ll keep you posted.
