Harry & Meghan Were Literally The Cutest At The Invictus Games Opening

The Invictus Games opening ceremony was held in Sydney overnight, and Prince Harry gave a speech that was just way too pure for our hearts, gushing over his wife Meghan and their future baby.

Before we get to that, however, go ahead and check out this photo, released by Kensington Palace in the lead-up to the ceremony.

Yep, that’s Harry practicing his speech for Meghan as she looks on adoringly from the front row in the Opera House forecourt.

Do you reckon he made a “Webster’s Dictionary defines ‘speech’ as …” joke for her at some point? I think he probably did, to be honest.

ANYWAY. At the official opening of the Invictus Games, which kicked off after yesterday’s hectic rain cleared, Harry gushed about his new family, saying:

“Thank you for the welcome you have given Meghan and I over the last few days. I have been so proud to be able to introduce my wife to you and we have been so happy to be able to celebrate the personal joy of our newest addition with you all.”

He then called upon Aussies to get excited for the event, in which wounded or injured soldiers and veterans take part in a variety of sports. “It’s your responsibility to make sure your children know how amazing these guys and girls really are,” he said.

You can read more of his speech below.

The royal couple’s tour will see them travelling to Fiji and Tonga next, before returning to Australia for the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games on October 27. They’ll then head over to New Zealand, before returning home to London on November 1.
