Interplanetary Puppet ALF Destined For The Big Screen?

Cat eating interplanetary wiseguy ALF was a primetime television fixture of the mid to late 1980s but these days, apart from occasional syndicated re-runs, a horrendous spinoff and random t-shirt appearances, ALF has all but disappeared into that part of the memory that stores Kimmy from Full House and your crush on The Mavis’s front man. But hold on to your Bouillabaisseball caps ALF fans, because it turns out the show’s creator, Paul Fusco, wants to see the science-fiction sitcom revived for the silver screen.

Fusco told The Hollywood Reporter that he’s planning to pitch a feature film about ALF to capitalise on the current Eighties revival that Hollywood’s hot for (see 21 Jump Street, The Smurfs, etc). He said, “I think the timing is right. There have been movies out there of characters that I didn’t think were on the same parallel as ALF that got movies made, so I think it’s time. I think it could be a home run on a lot of levels.”

Fingers crossed he can get it off the ground, because the jokes on ALF really have stood the test of time:

NOT.

Aaah I kill me.
