OOFT: There’s A $135K Difference Between The Highest & The Lowest Earners On I’m A Celebrity

Abbie Chatfield, Ash Williams and Travis Varcoe on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is over for another year, with Abbie Chatfield crowned the youngest ever winner of the series.

And while we know that Abbie made $100K for her chosen charity, Dementia Australia, we didn’t know exactly how much each celeb pocketed for their time getting bitten by snakes, eating bugs and so forth. Until Woman’s Day spilled the goss today.

According to Woman’s Day, the highest earners on I’m A Celebrity in 2020 were runner-up Grant Denyer and fifth place Colin Fassnidge.

Robert ‘Dipper’ DiPierdomenico scored $90K for his appearance, despite narrowly missing a spot in the finale.

Seventh place, Ash Williams, also apparently made $90K for his stint on the show. That aligns with previous gossip from the So Dramatic! podcast that Ash was going to earn a plum $180K for both I’m A Celebrity and his now-canned stint as the Bachelor.

He’s believed to have lost the second part of the sum when he was ditched from Bachie after he was charged with intentionally recording intimate images without consent. His lawyer entered a not guilty plea on his behalf in court today.

Fourth place, Toni Pearen, and sixth place, Travis Varcoe, are each believed to have made a plum $60K for their 21 days in the Aussie jungle.

Winner Abbie made $50K for I’m A Celebrity (and she deserves more for drinking cum as part of her training regime).

That’s the same as second runner-up Jess Eva, who ended up needing to have bugs and fungus removed from her ears from the show this month. (Filming took place in November and December.)

Abbie and Jess apparently made the same as Jack Vidgen and Paulini, who were eliminated on days 11 and 20 respectively.

Mel Buttle withdrew from I’m A Celeb after just a few days due to her fear of snakes, but still allegedly took home $35K, as did Alli Simpson and Pettifleur Berenger.

And Adam Densten and Symon Lovett made the least, earning just $15K each for their short stints in the jungle. That’s $135K between what the ex-Goggleboxers made, and what Grant and Colin raked in.

Weird that the top four earners are blokes, huh?

The Woman’s Day report is not the first we’ve heard about I’m A Celebrity‘s hefty pay packets.

Jack Vidgen would not be pressed by Kyle and Jackie O about precisely what he earned in the jungle, saying only that the moolah was “fantastic.”

“I’m not going to tell you. I signed things and I can’t say! I’ll lose all the money if I tell you,” he said, when asked if made more or less than $100K.

And at the end of 2020, Network Ten denied that conspiracy theorist/former celebrity chef Pete Evans would still be making $200K despite being axed from the show after he posted Nazi symbolism on Facebook. He was reportedly placed by Colin Fassnidge.
