Ian Thorpe Reportedly Comes Out As Gay In TV Interview With Michael Parkinson

In news that is unfortunately still news by virtue of you having read this sentence, Australian swimming G.O.A.T. Ian Thorpe has reportedly come out as gay in a yet-to-air TV interview that was shot last month with A+ conversationalist Sir Michael Parkinson that’ll go to air on Channel 10 at 6pm on Sunday evening, AEST.
Reports circulating as of midnight Saturday indicate that Parkinson’s interview with Thorpe, a five time Olympic gold medalist and icon regardless of his sexual orientation, includes a full admission from Thorpe that he is gay despite having exclusively dated women in the past and despite your incredible prescience where all aspects of the matter at hand are concerned – kudos, you; no, really, great job on predicting this, here’s a trophy for you .
According to the Herald, neither party involved in the interview has confirmed the nature “Thorpe’s admission.” As you will no doubt read countless times should this issue so captivate you, Thorpe wrote in his 2012 autobiography, This is Me, “For the record, I am not gay and all my sexual experiences have been straight. I’m attracted to women, I love children and aspire to have a family one day. I know what it’s like to grow up and be told what your sexuality is, then realising that it’s not the full reality. I was accused of being gay before I knew who I was.
More to come.
